Environmental portraits, company branding - Images made for business.

Corporate Environment Portraits (Series)

A series of corporate portraits, photographed on location: Sydney CBD office.

In an AI world, real settings add grounding and place. Offering up a genuine sense of believability to the people who work here.

Using the defocused form and colours of office interiors and city buildings beyond provides intrigue and demands attention.

Clean & Simple Corporate Photography

Clean and simple backgrounds are a classic look that can withstand changing trends and remain relevant for years. They are a very popular choice for company profile shots for god reason. This style creates a polished and refined appearance, ideal for corporate or business-related photography. This approach ensures consistency across multiple portraits or images, making them cohesive when used together.

Neutral backdrops affords graphic designers maximum flexibility for easy compositing.

Good posing and expressions are important here, as there is little else to capture the attention of the viewer.

Editorial Portraits

A selection of “on location editorial portraits” featuring women in business is shown here.

Compelling images are clearly a prerequisite when shooting for editorial purposes, but they are just the start of the requirements. Graphic designers often need to have clutter-free space available to place text and graphics, so these types of shots need to have built-in flexibility to make them suitable for use across multiple applications, including printed materials, online, and on social media. Appropriate framing is therefore also an important consideration at the time of the shoot.

Team Member Portraits - LHD Lawyers

A company’s corporate identity is shaped through numerous channels, and photography serves as a key element in establishing, showcasing, and strengthening that identity.

Perceptions of any business can be influenced by stereotypes and external factors. Photography offers a dynamic way to quickly and effectively reinforce positive perceptions.

In this project, my goal was to capture the essence of professionalism and confidence embodied by the people who are the backbone of LHD Law firm. It was crucial to convey their relatable, genuine, and approachable nature.

The portraits featured here were crafted utilising selected dynamic spaces in LHD’s CBD office. By choosing these settings, my aim is to introduce a grounded feel to the imagery. A knowledge that these are the real people who work here and if you pick up the phone you’ll get to talk to one of them. A clear differentiation from the popular "clean studio" style.

Working in a real environment presents unique challenges that are not encountered in a studio setting. However, when managed effectively, it results in images that captivate viewers for longer, leaving a lasting impression of authenticity and connection. With this approach, a diverse range of settings offers a consistency of style to the image set. Style consistency is complemented by cohesive elements such as lighting, lens selection, posing, and cropping.

Corporate profile portraits

These images were captured in an outdoor location adjacent the client’s Sydney office. Primarily intended for use as Linkedin profile images. The location was chosen for the fresh and modern feel. A look difficult to achieve inside the company’s office which is situated in a heritage building.

Estate Agent Branding Photography

In the Real Estate world, Agents are very aware of the important role photography plays when showcasing property. Equally important are the images promoting the people and faces of the sales teams themselves.

Photography has become an essential tool in market positioning. Quality photography helps differentiate the strata (sorry, dad joke) in a very competitive business space.

Some of these examples were shot for industry associations, others for agencies themselves.

Company Profile Portraits Series

Photographed in conjunction with a boardroom meeting, these company profile images were supplied in greyscale to match company branding guidelines.

The camera captures full colour, however, If the final images are to be supplied in black & white. Best results can be achieved if the photographic lighting is setup to suit.

For the most “punch” a moderately contrasty lighting set provides the best results.

Personal Branding Portraits

Sally has a small business called “Innate Balance” which operates in the health and wellbeing industry.

To expand the reach of her enterprise, Sally organised this portrait/lifestyle photo-session. A great choice In my view. Particularly wise since the elegance of considered photography is that it has the ability to convey an underlying message subconsciously and in a completely unforced manner.

In this instance, my aim was to create a series of images that present Sally as a caring, trustworthy and approachable professional. Portraits that enable her customers to immediately feel at ease, and to have a sense of who she is and what she is all about.

This shoot was carried out on location in her modest workplace and within a relatively brief photo session. Bringing my experience and understanding to the shoot I was able to suggest poses, introduce the right body language and light the scene for purpose. This enabled me to create a solid range of “on brand” options for Sally to choose from.

Between Sally and myself, I feel we were able to achieve this aim and capture a really nice series of shots.

If you are curious, and would like to see a more comprehensive range of images from the shoot click here. This is how I present online proofing to my clients.
