Architectural photography, at its purest, is about celebrating outstanding design.
When shooting for architects commercially, it becomes particularly important that my imagery is aesthetically exquisite, whilst maintaining the highest standards technically.
A crucial element of the process is the ability to showcase the key features of a building, to engage the viewer and entice them to want more. Through the selection of eye-catching viewpoints and compositions, I am able to evoke the desired emotional responses within a potential client.
My photographic process is bespoke. Every new shot and every new angle offers challenges that need to be understood and worked with. Often, the production of a polished final shot involves assembling and blending many source exposures together. My aim is always to deliver a clean, natural and, importantly, believable shot style.
Technically, I am able to combine the best of both worlds, using available natural light exposures as well as studio flash lighting techniques. As an experienced retoucher, I then bring this all together seamlessly in post-production, employing various manual dynamic range compression techniques, flash/ambient blending, and colour/contrast grading.
Stripping back the jargon, ultimately Iām all about making beautiful images that represent the architectural vision in its true form.
